Abstract

The transition ability of P. brasiliensis and the capacity to grow as a yeast form in the host tissues are essential for the development of the disease and later dissemination to other tissues. There are many proteins involved in this switch, among them are the heat shock proteins (Hsp), which have been postulated to play an important role in the adaptation of the cells to environment conditions.
